Storyboard Text

  • Hello! I'm Abe Lincoln and you should elect me as your next President because...
  • Even worse... he'll take away our slaves! He wants us to stay where we are at, when we could be growing our slave population!
  • President Lincoln is attacking our values! He'll take away our rights!
  • President Lincoln isn't an abolitionist!
  • But, President Lincoln will stop further expansion of slavery. That's a pretty good compromise.
  • As Senator, I, John J. Crittenden, propose a plan to guarantee slavery be where it is, reinstate the Missouri Compromise, and extending it all the way to the California border.
  • The Crittenden Compromise is not worth it! I encourage you all to vote against this plan that Senator Crittenden proposed.
  • THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! THE STATES ARE NOT BEING REPRESENTED!!
  • LET'S FORM OUR OWN NATION!! LET'S SECEDE THE UNION! THEY ARE HOLDING US BACK!
  • Gentlemen, the South just seceded and formed the Confederate States of America. We may have a civil war on our hands.
