  • Mathilde was very upset and mad because she was poor and not rich
  • (3) i will give up my rifle so you can get a dress

  • (1) we got invited to a ball
  • mathilde got invited to a ball but she had nothing to ware so her husband sold his rifle to buy her a ball gown.
  • (2) we did, but i don't have anything to wear

  • (1) this dress is so nice, but i can't go
  • (5) ok i wil
  • (3) i have no jewels to ware
  • (4) well why don't you ask one of your friends to borrow a necklace
  • mathilde got the dress she wanted but she had no jewels to ware with it. so her husband told her to go to her friends house and see if she could borrow a necklace because she was rich.

  • when she got home after the ball she notices that the necklace she borrowed was missing and never told her friend. instead mithalde and her husband worked for 10 months and bought her friend a really expansive necklace that looks the same as the one she lost

  • you do know that necklace was made out of glass and was only like 500 francs.
  • oh hey madame, um... i have something to tell you, you know that necklace i borrowed well i kind of lost it and instead of telling you i bought you a brand knew that looks just like.
  • mathlide went to the ball looking very nice and had a wonderful time.
  • (2) well come on we will go look for it
  • mathalde was walking one day and ran into her friend and finally told her the truth. but then her friend told her that the necklace was made out of glass and was only 50 dollars.
