Storyboard Text

  • Hey, do you know how to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators?
  • Yeah, I can help you!
  • First, you have to find a common denominator. You can do this by multiplying the denominators together. Make sure you do whatever you do to the denominator to the numerator!
  • Okay, got it.
  • After you've done that, it's simple! You just have to add the numerators with simple addition. If it goes above the denominator, you can turn it into a mixed number by subtracting the numerator from the denominator and the leftover goes into the numerator and then the the part that was subtracted turns into a whole!
  • Ok, thanks!
