After World War Two, Russia and the U.S. couldn't put their differences aside any longer. Their different political views makes them resent one another.
The West was scared Stalin would eventually take over the world with Communism. They feared he would do so by force if needed.
The Soviets feared the American's atomic bomb. America wouldn't share the nuclear secrets with them.
President Truman disliked Stalin. The Soviets clearly did not like capitalism.
Russia expanded west into Eastern Europe. They then broke election promises they had made previously.
