  • Indian Removal
  • You need to go.
  • We're not going anywhere.
  • Worchester vs Georgia
  • Trail of Tears
  • Congress issued the Indian Removal Act of 1830, establishing modern-day Oklahoma as the first Indian territory. Tribes were pressured to sign treaties and move west. All but the Cherokee gave in.
  • Jackson vs the National Bank
  •
  • B A N K
  • The Cherokee tribe sent a representative to the supreme court to appeal to the Chief of Justice - John Marshall. They won the case...
  • He Left the US a Mess
  • ...but Andrew Jackson ignored this and apathetically sent military forces to remove them anyways. This is (arguably) the most contemptible act of Jackson during his presidency. 15,000 Cherokee Indians were forced to traverse across what is now called the Trail of tears. 4,000 Cherokee died along this journey.
  • And to top it all off, Jackson did away with the national bank as a final act of egotism. This sent the world into a massive debt known as the Great Depression.
  • Overall, Andrew Jackson single-handedly screwed up just about everything during his presidency - which, might I add, lasted TWO TERMS!! Seriously, what happened here?!?!
