Hello, I am Samantha, your tour guide. Today we are going to take a tour through the digestive system
How does the mouth help with digestion?
Your Teeth Chop and grind food.The Saliva from your mouth helps to start breaking down food. As for your tongue, it helps you swallow food.
What is the esophagus do??
Your Esophagus is the tube where food is swallowed. This tube pushes food down to your stomach
What does the stomach area do???
Well, Your Gallbladder Produces an enzyme to break down protein. Your pancreas produces an enzyme to break down starches. Your liver produces proteins. Your stomach digests everything
What do the intsetines do, and what is the appendix??
The small intestine is a tube that is 20-25 ft long. This is where most of the digestion take place. The large intestine is about 5ft long and this part is where the water leaves the system. The appendix is a small nip that has no use.
Well, the rectum stores undigested waste. The anus is the opening where the gastrointestinal tract ends and exits the body.
What is the rectum and what does it do. Also, what is the anus??
