Cuneiform was the first script to be used, developed at 3500 B.C.
The Sumerian cities formed its own city-state cmoposed of the city itself and farmland for several miles around.
Mesopotamians grew a variety of crops including wheat, barle, onions, grapes, turnips and apples. They also kept cattles, sheep and goats.
The plains of Mesopotamia was created by the mud brought down by the rivers.
