  • Population in the Mesopotamian Civilization were divided into two groups. (Those who spoke Sumerian and Semitic)
  • Mud brick Ziggurtas were being constructed in many Sumerian cities (2000 B.C.) Later, ziggurats were constructed in Babylonian and Assyrian cities.
  • Cuneiform was the first script to be used, developed at 3500 B.C.
  • The Sumerian cities formed its own city-state cmoposed of the city itself and farmland for several miles around.
  • Mesopotamians grew a variety of crops including wheat, barle, onions, grapes, turnips and apples. They also kept cattles, sheep and goats.
  • The plains of Mesopotamia was created by the mud brought down by the rivers.
