  • You have the idea for the software, and figure out what exactly it is meant to do. You figure out if there is a need for this software. You study the market and figure out if your software is likely to sell. A Requirement Specification document is drafted that documents the requirements in order to design and develop the software.
  • Step One: Planning
  • The overall architecture of the software is defined. How the coding will run and the system and software design are confirmed in this phase.
  • Step Two: Design
  • The work required to develop the software is split into modules. Coding begins, and this is the main phase of the software’s development.
  • Step Three: Development
  • The product is pitted against its requirements in order to ensure that the solution the product claims to offer is achieved. The modules are combined into a single product.
  • Step Four: Testing
  • Steps Six and Seven: Deployment and Maintenance
  • The software is delivered to the consumer. The product is improved upon through patches or updates as bugs and other issues with the software are found through use by the consumer.
