  • During the evenings Mako's grandfather would tell him stories of Tupa, how he would destroy the boats, eat the fish, and even the story of how Mako's father died. He ended with an announcement of how much Tupa's life was worth, and with that Mako vowed to kill Tupa.

  • WE NEED BANANAS!
  • The next day Mako heard his mother complaining about there being no bananas. Even though she wasn't directly talking to him he equipped his spear in one hand, banana knife in the other, and Afa following close behind and they canoed off to the other island.
  • BANANAS!
  • On the way back Mako spotted Tupa in the water, Afa jumped out and started swimming back to the island, but Tupa was already on Afa's tail. Mako got up and thrust his spear into Tupa's eye, pulled it out and did the same to the other. Giving Afa enough time to get back on.
  • CLIMAX
  • As Mako and his dog floated back Tupa floated with them as well, silent and unmoving. When they got to shore Mako made a prayer to the shark gods and struck the vile creature through the elbow.
  • I KILLED TUPA!
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Mako was rewarded the 30 acres of land and the sailing canoe. He saved the island from the fear of Tupa and rid wrecking of boats and eating of fish.
