Proclomation of 1763
Sugar Act of 1764
Stamp Act of 1765
Banned colonist from moving west of the appalachin mountains, on native american land after the french and indian war.
Townsend Acts of 1767
Lowered the tax on the molasses the colonist imported. Also allowed officers to seize goods from accused smugglers without going to court.
Boston Massacre 1770
Taxed almost all printed material. Colonist argued that only there assemblys could tax them. The Sons of Liberty which protested against the stamp act.
Boston Tea Party 1773
Tax on imports such as glass, tea and paper. The tax was paid when the goods arrive- before they went into the colonie. Protest immediatly began , Daughters of Liberty began boycotting the british goods.
The angry towns people began throwing sticks and stones at the soldiers. "Come on, you rascals, you bloody backs, you lobster scoundrels, fire, if you dare!" someone in the rowed shouted. When on esoldier was killed the others shot and killed five towns people.
Despite the warnings, the East Indian Company continued shipping tea to the colonies. December 16th at midnight colonist dressed as Native Americans boarded the ship and threw 342 chests of tea overboard.
