  • Jacob Gives Joseph Coat
  • Joseph Tells His Dreams
  • Joseph Is Sold Into Slavery
  • Jacob lived in the land of Canaan and loved his son Joseph. He loved him more than his other children, he was his favorite. So Jacob made him a coat with royal colors. This made his other children jealous.
  • Jacob's Cry
  • One day, Joseph had a dream where him and his brothers were collecting grains and his brothers grains bowed down to his. He told it to his brothers and they got even more angry. He also had another dream where the moon, sun, and eleven stars bowed down to him. His brothers were enraged by now.
  • Joseph In Charge 
  • Then, Jacob sent his children to go to Shechem to see his flock. The brothers then went to Dothan and when they saw Joseph, they wanted to kill him. So, they ripped his clothes apart and threw him down a well. Later, while they were eating, Judah noticed men with a camel that were going to Egypt. They decided to take Joseph out and they sold him to the men.

  • Now that they got rid of Joseph they needed a lie. They took Joseph coat and covered it in blood. When they went back to their father, they said a ferocious beast had killed him. Hearing that his favorite son died, Jacob started crying for days.  
  • Back in Egypt, Joseph was sold as a slave to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials. After a while he was such a good worker Potiphar put him in command of his house and everything went well. 
  • One day, Potiphar’s wife wanted Joseph to do something wrong. Joseph refused to do it, so Potiphar’s wife started screaming and when Potiphar came, she said he was abusing her. Potiphar got angry and sent him to prison.
