  • The colonists threw boxes of tea to protest the taxes being forced on them by England. "No taxation without representation"
  • Washington's army crosses the Delaware 1776
  • The first battle of the Revolutionary War was fought on April 19th, 1775. The night before, hundreds of British troops marched from Boston to Concord. That was the night Paul Revere said "The British are coming" to wake the colonial militiamen.
  • Treaty of Paris of 1783
  • On July 4th, 1776 the Declaration of independence was ratified. This document announced that the thirteen American colonies considered themselves independent states.
  • Constitution 1788
  • On the night on December 25-26, 1776 George Washington and his army crossed the Delaware and surprised British soldiers. This was the turning point in the war when George Washington lead his army to victory.
  • The Treaty of Paris of 1783 ended the revolutionary war and made American independence known. It was ratified by the Continental Congress in 1784.
  • Created on September 17th, 1787 and ratified on June 21st, 1788, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land of the United States of America.
