  • In this scene the Watsons are getting ready to leave for Flint
  • So their neighbour is stopping to say goodbye and gives Joetta a gift. She realises it is an angel with different features from her but is still polite and says thank you
  • Joetta and her mother are sitting on Joetta's bed and talking about the angel while her brother Kenneth eavesdrops
  • Joetta does not like the gift because she says that the angel looks nothing like her because it is white. So she decides to hide it in her sock drawer.
