  • Into the Leaves, we go! This is where CO2 enters through the stomata.
  • Photosynthesis
  • H2O
  • H2O
  • CO2
  • CO2
  • So class, In the leaves, the H20 and C02 molecules meet and do photosynthesis!
  • H2O
  • Then the  leaf relies on the energy from the sun to break the water and CO2 molecules apart
  • CO2
  • Okay, kids pop quiz! who knows what forms when water and carbon dioxide meet?
  • Yikes, a pop quiz!
  • According to my research, glaucous, a type of sugar is formed when those two molecules meet
  • Dorthy Ann is correct, sugar is made from H2O and CO2
  • Sugar is used to help the plant grow, repair and make seeds and flowers
  • Yeah, then how come the plant gets all the sugar? Don't we get something in return?
  • But why does a plant need sugar, Ms. Frizzle?
  • Oh, but we do Carlos, Oxygen or O2 is a byproduct of photosynthesis. Plants release it through the stomata in the leaves. We then breathe in the oxygen! Plants help us live!
  • You're welcome Arnold now I expect you to use your newfound knowledge on our test next week!
  • Wow! I never knew plants did that much for us! Thanks for the field trip, Ms. Frizzle!
  • OH NO!!!!!!!
