Down with Bastille!
After the long years of high taxes and hunger, the hope for a change quickly turned into anger. Jaques and many other angry peasants began to gather in the streets to riot. Enough was enough, and they needed to make a stand.
After months of aggressive protests, Jaques and the other protestors decided to go after Bastille. On July 14, 1789, the medieval fortress, armory, and political prison was taken down by Jaques and the peasants.
Jaques and the rest of the peasants played a large role in The Fall of Bastille, which marked the beginning of the French Revolution.
