Iraq Cinderella story
Once upon a time there was a fishermen who's wife had drowned. He had only his daughter, Maha, left.
He soon married again and Maha's new stepmother didn't like how her dad loved her so much so she made her do all the chores.
There was a celebration where all of the unmarried women would meet the mothers of the unmarried men and the mothers would pick out their sons wives. Maha was upset because her stepmother wouldn't let her go.
She ran to the pond to speak with her fish friend. He gave her a fancy dress and golden sandals to wear to the celebration. After awhile at the celebration she had to leave to beat her step mother and sister home. As she ran home she lost one of her golden sandals.
The next day the prince finds a golden sandal by the river bank. He takes it to his mother and she declares that whoever the sandal belong to will be his wife. She sends out a search to find the girl.
They eventual find Maha and the golden sandals fit perfectly and she has the matching one. The prince and her get married.
