Math Cartoon: Absolute Value & Integers
By soccerlockett, Updated
What's wrong guys, you haven't been yourselves today at practice?
We have this test over Absolute Value, and we don't understand any of it.
Guys we kind of do absolute value every day at practice when we get in our formations, so why don't you get in your positions.
Okay Coach Gray, if you say so.
Okay so act like the yard line is a integer line with positive & negative numbers, and both of you stand on a 40 yard line.
Okay now act like I'm on the number 0, Brandon you'll be -40 since you're on the left, and Louie you'll be +40 since you're on the right
4O and and so is Louie.
So how much are you away from me Brandon and Louie?
Oh, now I get it so even if he's negative and I'm positive, we're both the same distance away from you because you're 0
Now to sum it all up, even though one of you were on the negative side, you both were the same distance away for 0, and that's the way it is with all opposites on a number line.
I think we're going to ace this test now!
With Absolute Value: Keep it Positive NO NEGATIVES ALLOWED
