Of mice and men storyline, main facts/events

Storyboard Text

  • Section 1
  • Section 2
  • Section 3
  • In this first chapter of Of Mice and Men, Lennie Smalls, the big, strong, childish protagonist and George Milton, the small but strong and quick protagonist are traveling to a ranch together. Lennie pets the mice till they die, and George tell him to get rid of them.
  • Section 4
  • When we are introduced to Curley's wife, she is dressed super fancy, and flirts with the guys and everyone but Lennie thinks she is 'a tart'. Lennie, on the other hand, is fascinated with her.
  • Section 5
  • One of the workers, Carlson, said to old man, Candy " If you want me to, I'll put the old devil out of his misery right now and get it over with. Ain't nothing left for him"(pg 47). Candy gave up, depressed, and let him shoot his old dog companion.
  • Section 6
  • Curley, the bosses son, angry and mean, and who loves to fight big men, turned on Lennie and fought him. Lennie wasn't fighting back until George told him to, and so he broke Curley's hand. Slim made sure Curley wasn't going to get them fired.
  • When Curley's wife tries to flirt with them again, Crooks, the black stable buck who live in the barn, defends them, saying that she cannot come into 'a black mans quarters'. She threatened to have him be hurt/killed, so he had to be quiet after that.
  • My predictions are that Lennie's strength and his love for Curley's wife and small animals will interfere with the story, and they will not end up having their dream come true.
