The Giraffes in the Sub-Sahara decide that it is time to reproduce and grow their species.
The Giraffes overproduce because they know that not all will survive due to fierce predators that are present in the Sub-Sahara.
Some of the Giraffes grow up to be tall and can reach the highest trees and highest leaves. The shorter giraffes struggle for food as they can't reach the high trees.
The tall giraffes end up surviving through adulthood because not only can they reach the high leaves but they can run away from fast predators due to their longer legs.
The tall giraffes live to reproduce and pass their tall genes onto next generations.
Future generations continue to inherit the tall gene and any ones that don't have the tall gene end up not surviving. This causes the tall gene to be the most present in giraffes.
