How Lions got Their Mane?
There was once Lions with and without manes. Either a lion has a mane or does not have a mane, there is not really a variation in between.
Manes protect bites on the neck and camouflage. The mane blends with the grass and most lions bite on the neck so manes are protections.
The lions with a mane start to thrive in their environment.
The lions with a mane can camouflage easily and also are protected on the neck
Many lions without manes start to die leaving only the female lions to thrive.
Only the females survive since they do not go to combat.
At the beginning, there are lions without manes and lions with manes. The mane helps them protect there neck as well as provide camouflage. Since the lions without a mane could not combat due to no mane, they die as well as them not getting enough food they need.
