In the first part of scene one, Miranda and Prospero are talking. They are talking about the ship wreck that is of the coast and how Prospero has done nothing but to care for her and her sister.
In the second part, Miranda and Prospero are talking about how they were sent to the island and there life before they were exiled. Prospero talks about how Miranda and her sister are like 2 angels sent from above. After the conversation Prospero puts Miranda to sleep.
After Prospero puts Miranda to sleep, Ariel approaches him and they have their own conversation. Ariel and Prospero talk about how Ariel made sure no one on the ship perished. They also talk about how the storm was magical. Later they talk about Ariel's loyalty and how she is seeking freedom. They also talk about Ariel's origin and her past imprisonment.
When Prospero has finished his conversation with Ariel and has sent her away, he calls upon Caliban and they begin their discussion with how Caliban's on origin. They talk about how Caliban is Sycorax's only son and was entrusted the island but Prospero took it. Caliban later talks about how he is a slave and he wants to be free. Prospero also mentions that Caliban lost his trust due to almost raping Miranda.
After Prospero and Caliban's conversation ends, Dorinda and Miranda have their own conversation. As they begin talking, Dorinda talks about the ship which is off the coast. She describes the ship wreck and how the hull burst into pieces. She also mentions how there are creatures, men, inside the boat which begins their topic of what men are and their looks.
Near the end of their conversation, they talk about what a man is and how they're father is a man but he does good. They think that everyone is related and that men might be bad due to Prospero possibly casting a spell on them or the way he's isolated them. The conversation ends with Dorinda saying that the wishes she could see a man.
