  • Kakei set off back to Oʻahu with his warriors and newfound treasure.
  • When they arrived back to Oʻahu, the beaches were filled with the riches from Kauaʻi. Kakei ordered a great feast to be made.

  • The ancient hawaiian name for Punchbowl is Pūowaina, which means hill of placing (human sacrifices). Pūowaina sits in the back of Honolulu and is now an extinct volcano. It's said, that it once housed the great volcano goddess Pele. 
  • The Chief of Waimea tried in vain to raise his war cry and defend his village. It was too late, there were to many of Kakeiʻs warriors.
