Storyboard Text

  • The American Revolution of 1765 started with the 2nd Continental Congress and the Olive Branch Petition. It was their last attempt to avoid conflict. Unfortunately, King George III refused this.
  • Ok! You got yourself an army!
  • HEY! Do you guys want to help us out in a war against the Colonists?!
  • Sure thing! Will we get freedom and land in return?
  • Yes you will!
  • Mmm... We need to make an "Articles of Confederation" or something. It can be as the first constitution of the United States. Most of the power will be left in the individual states.
  • Hopefully there won't be a weak central government.
  • The Revolutionary War then broke out in its first phase where the war was primarily fought in Boston exposing the strength of the colonies.
  • CHARGE!!!!
  • The Second Phase involved Commander William Howe invading New York and tries to intimidate colonists into submission to the crown. 32,000 soldiers drive colonists out of New York and into Pennsylvania. The United States were victorious at Saratoga. A British victory could have ended the war.
  • The Third and Final Phase of the Revolutionary War involved Guerrilla warfare which was a surprise ambush. However, the United States were victorious once again!
