Storyboard Text

  • Back at Home
  •  Lucy! Wait! where are you running off to? Tell me about school. I want to know everything.
  • Mom, I'll tell you later. I'm not really in the mood.
  • In Rachael's House
  • Why does everyone hate me? Why does it bother them if I like sports or "boyish" colours? I don't know what to do.
  • On the School Bus, on the Way to School
  • Hey Laura, is there a football team in our school? I really want to join a team. I love football!
  • Yes there is! You should definitely join it!
  • Rachael reached home and hastily runs up to her room without even speaking to her mother. Even though she made a new friend, Laura, in the bus she was still paranoid and extremely hurtful by the mean comments the other students passed about her. She wanted to "fit" in with the others but Laura told her to be herself. Rachael was in a big dilemma.
  • At Recess
  • Hi.. umm, is this the football team? I would like to join...
  • Hahaha, no way! this has got to be a joke!
  • Rachael went to her room and just sat on her bed thinking to herself what she had done so wrong for everyone to hate her. Rachael's parents taught her that both boys and girls should play sports equally and that it was okay to like the colour "blue" or "green." She was extremely hurt and didn't know what do do.
  • In the Classroom
  • Hey Sarah! Did you hear that Lucy wanted to join the BOYS football team?! But she rejected!
  • The next day, on the bus Rachael sat with Laura again and they spoke all the way till they reached school.
  • In the Classroom
  • Guys! I seriously do not appreciate the comments you are making and spreading to all the other children. There is absolutely no problem in girls liking sports. Everyone has different passions but that doesn't mean you categorise them. I think you should stop what you're doing and worry about your own lives.
  • During break time, Rachael was determined to join the football team. After asking a teacher for directions, she found the team near the school ground. To her surprise, the team only consisted of boys. Here's how their thirty second conversation went...
  • Excuse me?! Who do you think you're talking to! You're a GIRL. I'm pretty sure you can't even hold the ball. Go somewhere else, go play hopscotch.
  • Back in the class, Rachael was extremely devastated with the reaction she got. But what made it worse was that Sarah and Lucy were secretly watching the incident during recess and wouldn't stop teasing Rachael about it.
  • Eww.. the football team?! Hahaha.. loner!
  • Rachael could take no more and decided to speak up for herself. She not only wanted the bullying to stop for her to have her rights, but she didn't want others to go through the same harassment as her.
  • ??!
