The Six Day War
The Six Day War started in the morning on the 5th of June, 1967...
Gamal Abdel Nasser, the president of Egypt at that time, was beginning to lose his reputation. Hoping to seem braver, when Israel started attacking Syria, Nasser took up a brave front and started to threaten Israel
...and to the Israelis... Stop the attacks immediately or we will be forced to take more violent measures!
After that, the Israeli government decided to go to war. Before they initiated, they wanted to trust that the Americans wouldn't disagree such as they did in the Sinai Campaign.
....Thank you for the support... and we can trust that the American Government will not step in?
On that morning, the Israeli Air Force surprise attacked the Egypt Air Force, and with the sky's clear, the ground forces of Israel quickly took over, not only the Sinai peninsula, but the West Bank and Golan Heights as well
After the absolute defeat of the Arab League, Nasser soon lost power and many Palestinians who were living in the West Bank were under Israeli rule... until the UN stepped in.
The United Nations adopted Resolution 242, which stated that Israel must give back the land won in the Six Day War and to acknowledge that everyone in that area had the right to live in peace, completely resolving the Six Day War.
