Storyboard Text

  • Yes, I hurt my leg when I tripped over something as I was walking and was able to crawl to this bench nearby.
  • Hi, My name is Sandy and I am certified in CPR and First Aid, may I assist you today?
  • So do you have any symptoms or signs that you see of where you're hurting?  Okay, Do you have any allergies?
  • I think my leg is bleeding but it feels like it's throbbing too. I can't put a lot of pressure on it either. No, I am not allergic to anything.
  • Are you taking any medications? What is your pertinent medical history? What and when did you last eat or drink?  What happened leading up to the accident?
  • I don't take any meds, and I fractured my leg back in 6th grade.  I was on my way back from having breakfast with my friend and we shared an omelette.  As I said earlier, I was walking back and I think I tripped and fell on my leg
  • May I do a Head to Toe Exam on you? I will start to move one part of your body at a time, starting at your head and neck and down towards your legs, finally finishing with your arms and hands.
  • Yes
  • Nope, nothing hurts besides my leg, probably from the cut you see.
  • Does it hurt when I touch your head or press on your neck? Next I will move towards your collarbone, can you take a deep breath in and let it out for me? Does that cause you any pain? Good! Next I am going to press on your legs and feet, does any of this hurt? I do see a cut, and am going to avoid that area for now. As I move and press on your arms and hands, does anything hurt? That's Great!
  • *Finishes with Exam* I think you just took a nasty fall, and if you'd like, I do have a first aid kit on me, if you'd like me to clean up your cut. If your leg still feels like it's throbbing and in pain, I'd go see your doctor.
  • That would be lovely, thank you! *Fixes up the girls leg*
