  • The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates : Magic marks the spot is set in a country called Augusta. The story is set in the 1500's, where there were pirates and treasure maps galore. Augusta is a Royal Kingdom surrounded by sunshine and ocean.
  • Rising Action
  • Hillary Westfield is the main character. She is a part of the crew of the Pigeon, a pirate ship captained by Jasper Fletcher and his first mate Charlie. The gargoyle is Hillary's best friend, and Miss Greyson is Hillary's governess, or tutor.
  • Climax
  • The pigeon's crew are on a mission to track down the Enchantresses lost treasure, or magic, that she took and hid. At that same time, she disappeared. The crew of the pigeon are to track down the treasure, and return it to the many angry citizens of Augusta.
  • Falling Action/Resolution
  • Hillary escapes from her wretched High Society school and joins the crew of the Pigeon. The pirate crew goes in search of the magic treasure by using a decoded treasure map. Once they solved the treasure map and found the exact spot of the treasure, the Royal Navy, who dislikes pirates, stole the treasure map that lead them to the treasure.
  • After a lot of chasing for the map, the crew of the Pigeon were lead to the office of the High Society school's headmistress. They found the treasure behind a quote that had the enchantress's mark. This meant that the headmistress was the enchantress.

  • In the end, Hillary becomes a real pirate, Miss Greyson marries Jasper Fletcher, and she and opens her bookshop on the Pigeon. The citizens of Augusta are returned their lost magic. Hillary changed from being a High Society girl, to a fearsome pirate, and Mrs. Greyson has learned that girls can do anything.
