  • Act 3 Scene 1
  • An I were so apt to quarrel as thou art, any man should buy the fee simple of my life for an hour and a quarter.
  • Act 3 Scene 2
  • Yes, yes, this is the rope ladder.
  • Mercutio/Benvolio's Men - Mercutio - Benvolio, Romeo - Friar Lawrence - Nurse - Juliet - Paris - Old Capulet - Lady Capulet
  • Act 3 Scene 3
  • Romeo, come forth, thou fearful man; thou fearful man. Affliction is enamored of thy parts, And thou art wedded to calamity.
  • Mercutio and Benvolio are walking down the street and are talking then Tybalt walks over and Mercution begins to taunt him. Romeo walks over and Tybalt asks Romeo to fight him but Romeo denies because he is secretly married to his cousin. Then Tybalt and Mercutio fight and Mercutio is killed. Later Romeo avenges Mercutio and escapes the scene.
  • Act 3 Scene 4
  • These times of woe afford no times to woo.--- Madam, good night. Commend me to your daughter.
  • After the fight the nurse comes to Juliet's room with the sad news of Tybalt's death but she gargles the words and Juliet thinks Romeo is dead. Finally the nurse conveys the truth to Juliet but she becomes even more sad. Luckily the nurse knows where Romeo is and promises to bring him to her that night before he leaves.
  • Act 3 Scene 5
  • Wilt thou be gone? It is not yet near day. It was the nightingale, and not the lark, That pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear. Nightly she sings on yon pomegranate tree. Believe me, love, it was the nightingale.
  • Romeo comes to Friar Lawrence to hide and the Friar delivers the news that he will only be banished. Romeo begins to complain of how he will never see his love again but the Nurse arrives with a ring for him from Juliet and they devise a plan to allow Romeo to meet her that night and then leave for a nearby town.
  • Paris, Lady Capulet and Capulet are talking about the terrible events that recently took place and begins to take about his daughter. As they are about to part Capulet says his daughter will marry Paris on Thursday, even though she never said she loved him.
  • Romeo prepares to leave Juliet since morning is approaching but they both delay it 'till the sun is almost up. After Romeo leaves Juliet's mother and father enter with the news that she will be marrying Paris that Thursday but what they don't know is she is already married. Of course Juliet attempts to stop the marriage but her father won't allow it. So Juliet counsels with he nurse.
