  • Tap... Tap... Tap...
  • What is that
  • Lenore
  • It is the wind, I hope
  • Nevermore
  • In the beginning the narrator is upset and mourning over the loss of his love, Lenore. He is also scared because a "visitor" is tapping at his door filling him with fears he hasn't had before.
  • In the dark a voice whispered Lenore and scared the narrator was just trying to comfort himself by saying "its just the wind. something is at my window.
  • He opens the door and in comes only a raven. The narrator yells at the raven wanting it to leave. Then the raven says "Nevermore" shaking the author with fear seeing a raven talk.
  • The raven starts to fix up the narrator's sad soul into a smile. The author sees the bird as a friend but he thinks that he will go away from him like all his other but the raven says "Nevermore".
  • The narrator starts to think that the raven was sent to help him forget all the sorrow of Lenore. Then he starts to think if the bird was sent for the opposite reason.
  • Then the narrator thinks he is here for evil and tries to shoo him out. The bird doesn't leave and the narrator thinks he is trapped under the birds shadow forever.
