  • During this energy process, a substance called Lactate is formed and Hydrogen Ions are relased.

  • But as a result of the accumulation (many) hydrogen ions in the muscle, it causes the muscle to become more acidic, resulting in vast symptoms of fatigue and a Burning sensation in the muscle and around the body.

  • To conclude, in the Glycolytic System our body need Carbohydrates as a fuel source in high intensity activites  to break down into glucose/glycogen, and eventually break down into an energy source (ATP) through Glycolysis. By using glycolysis our movements at max effort increases to 1-2 minutes. This produces energy quickly, but not over a long duration of time. making the best time to use this system when we are doing circuit training; I.e.. lifting weights, or doing H.I.I.T programs.
