The stamp act was like this if a pice of paper had a British stamp it. Meant that the tax was payed
So in 1764 the British parliament passed the Sugar act. Which put a tax on all sugar
King George the 3 went into debt after funding the French and Indian war. King George the 3 felt like the war was mostly to keep the colonies. He felt the colonist had to help pay.
the colonist were mad that the all of the sugar was taxed.So no body paid there taxes .
Colonists were out Raged.So in October 1765 representatives of 9 colonies disused what should be done
So after that the acts were dropped.
The British parliament only let colonist buy tea from them they also taxed the tea.This made the colonist very mad.So many colonist boycotted and refused to buy tea
In late November 1773 3 ships came into the Boston harbor holding crates of tea.The tax was to be paid when the cargo would be unloaded. Samuel Adams called a meeting. They would demand for the ship to go back to England but they didn't so the sons of liberty thorw all the tea in the ocean
This whole thing was known has the Boston tea party.
