  • The stamp act was like this if a pice of paper had a British stamp it. Meant that the tax was payed
  • So in 1764 the British parliament passed the Sugar act. Which put a tax on all sugar
  • King George the 3 went into debt after funding the French and Indian war. King George the 3 felt like the war was mostly to keep the colonies. He felt the colonist had to help pay.

  • the colonist were mad that the all of the sugar was taxed.So no body paid there taxes .
  • Colonists were out Raged.So in October 1765 representatives of 9 colonies disused what should be done
  • So after that the acts were dropped.
  • The British parliament only let colonist buy tea from them they also taxed the tea.This made the colonist very mad.So many colonist boycotted and refused to buy tea
  • In late November 1773 3 ships came into the Boston harbor holding crates of tea.The tax was to be paid when the cargo would be unloaded. Samuel Adams called a meeting. They would demand for the ship to go back to England but they didn't so the sons of liberty thorw all the tea in the ocean
  • This whole thing was known has the Boston tea party.
