#### Storyboard Text

• To find the roots of a quadratic equation that can be factored, apply the Zero- Product Property.
• I just don't get it!!
• If the quadratic equation is x2-16=0 you have to find the square root of 16
• The square root of 16 is 4
• Yes so the factor would be..
• (x+4)(x-4)=0?
• Yes you're doing great! So if thats the factor then what are the roots?
• Its ummm x=16 y=-4?
• The x has to make the factors = 0
• Nonono if the factors are (x+4)(x-4)=0
• Yes! You got it! To get the factors to = 0 the value of x must be its opposite! (x+4) x=-4 (-4+4)=0
• Yes so what roots would make 4=0 and - 4= 0?
• x=-4 and x=+4?
