When the Europeans first came to Australia they attempted to kill the Aboriginals. They were not succesful so the government decided the only way was to seperate the children from the elders of the Aboriginal culture utimiltely stopping the culture
from continuing. The government took younger children to churches, foster families and assimilation institutes to be taught the proper way of living, the European way. They were taken with no time to say goodbye to their families who they would never see
again. Assimilation is when a individual adapts to a differnt culture, religion or lifestyle. This event was called the stolen generation. Aboriginals and the Aboriginal culture has been greatly effected by this event in Australia's history.
