  • You have to multiply the numerator by the numerator and the denominator by the denominator. If you are multiplying a fraction with a whole number, put a 1 under the whole number so it's a fraction.
  • 1/2 x 3/4= ? 1/2 x 8 = ?
  • 1/2 x 3/4 = 3/8 1/2 x 8 = 8/2 = 4
  • Now we can learn how to divide. First, you have to reciprocal the second fraction. This means you have to switch the denominator and the numerator. Then you multiply.
  • 3/5 / 1/2 = ?
  • 3/5 / 1/2 = 3/5 x 2/1 = 6/5 = 1 1/5
