The system Texans used yo move cattle is called a cattle drive. During the revolutionary war cattle drives from Texas supported the Spanish and american armies. the men that first started cattle drives were tejanos.
The Texas legislature helped stop the range wars by making wire cutting illegal. After Mable day had brought the problem to the attention of the Texas legislature they had to come to a compromise. They made rules, no fence cutting, and you had to have a fence every 3 miles so the cattle can move to pastures
Long horns were important to the Texas cattle industry because they could with stand a lot. They very well thrive on there native grasses, they have even ate prickly pear cacti. These huge animals could even endure hot and cold weather and can survive on little water
