"Tis some visitor, tapping at my chamber door- only this and nothing more."
I hope that is Lenore and nothing else. Nameless here for evermore.
Knock! knock! knock!
"Surely that is something at my window lattice; let me see, then, what a threat is, and this mystery explore- let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore; - tis the wind and nothing more!"
Lenore, Lenore is that you?
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou, art sure no craven, ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore- tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
He was so upset thinking that Lenore was at the door because he really missed her, therefore this was his only chance to find out if it was truly her.
This i the story when he goes up to the door and opens it when he just sees pure darkness. Even though at the beginning he thought it would have been Lenore waiting for him.
