  • The Mexicans wanted their cannon back.The Texans didn't give it to them.They had a battle and the Texans won it.
  • Battle of Coleto Creek
  • The Mexicans invaded the Texans so they found a spot to defend,Hint the "Alamo".The siege went on for 13 days,The final siege from the Mexicans only took 1 hour and killed everyone.
  • Constitutional Convention of 1836
  • Delegates met to decide their response to the conflict at Gonzales; adopted the “Declaration of the People in Texas in General Convention Assembled,”
  • Goliad Massacre
  • Fannin stopped in an open prairie to give his men a rest, but the Mexicans were able to surround them. Fannin’s men had no natural resources to protect themselves, resulting in a defeat.
  • This event is also known as the Consultation of 1836. They adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence, wrote the Constitution of 1836, and created an interim government. This meeting and the resulting documents made the cause for Texas independence.
  • Fannin’s men were surrounded by the Mexican army and there was no escape because it was an open prairie and no place to hide; Fannin decides to surrender thinking his soldiers would be treated as prisoners of war.But instead they were executed.
