Hi. I'm George. And I moved to the colonies just in time for the horrible acts the British were making to make money back from the French and Indian war.
The first act Britain passed was called the sugar act. It taxed stuff like sugar and molasses.
But some printing presses still bought paper to print there newspapers.
Then it was the Satmp act. It taxed evry thing from paper and playing cards to dice. This was one of the most horrible acts.
The townshed acts happened as well. They mostly taxed tea.
Then the Intolerable acts came about. They shut down Boston Harbor, made it so we couldn't have meetings, they put a Quartering act on us and many more. These were some of the hardest hitting acts.
Then the Boston Tea Party happened. The colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped tea over the ship and ruined all of the British tea in the act of rebellion.
And then the First Continental Congress meet in Philadelphia in 1774. They talked about whether they anted war, or peace. They basically talked about everything on how to make everything fair.
And the final thing was Lexington and Concord. This was the very first show off between Britain and the Colonies. The Colonists ended up wining, but it wasn't easy.
