A young boy runner ran to Athens to tell that they have defeated the persians but after his adventure he died.
Xerxes matched his army of 100-300k towards Athens but was blocked at the Thermopylae pass. At this time the Greeks were not one nation.
The very long battle lasted three days but in the end the Persians were defeated.
Then the Athenians and Persians fought on the sea, and yet again the Persians lost.
Finally the Athenians wiped out the rest of Xerxes's army at Bo Plateau. After all of that happened it was the end of the Persian invasion.
