Storyboard Description
Hrothgar and his men were celebrating in the mead hall with a feast. After the feast, everybody went to sleep. In the middle of the night, Grendel came to the castle and attacked everybody. They tried to fight him off, but he killed them all then left. Hrothgar realized that he needed somebody to come and kill Grendel.
Storyboard Text
- Hrothgar takes the throne,led the Danes to such glory that comrades and kinsmen swore by his sword. This celebration brought forth the idea to build a mead hall for all warriors to celebrate and boast their victories.
- The warriors boasted night fall after night fall in their glory, and loudly in that hall the harp's song and poet's song would put them to sleep.
- The pleasure of boasting in their glory was so heartwarming that it woke the demon Grendel, who is the descendant of Cain. He was a murderous creature who was banished by god , for the crime created against Abel.
- When darkness came Grendel went up to Herot and was curious as to what the warriors did after drinking ,that he went and found them asleep. He thought quickly and began clawing 30 men from their slumber.
- When daybreak came the warrios and King Hrothgar saw what Grendel had done, and spent the morning with tears and laments for the dead. Hrothgar wept, fearing that this was just the beginning to an unbearable end.
- Each warrior tried to escape him, since they figured he only come at night. Only a few survived ,because they fled. Herot stayed empty for twelve winters.
- The misery of King Hrothgar leaped the seas, and was told and sung to all men ears.
- In Herot, when the night hid Grendel he never dared to touch the throne of King Hrothgar. This throne was protected by god, whom love Grendel would never know.
- In his far off home Beowulf, Higlac's follower, heard how Grendel filled the nights with horror, and was determined to sail across the seas to aid the men of Hrothgar.
- Beowulf and fourteen of the mightiest of men from Geats, sailed straight for the Danish shore.
- When they arrive they are greeted at the door by Wulfgar, and addresses to the seafarers with soldier's words. After Beowulf respond, he is taken to King Hrothgar and they share a moment that only brave men shall witness and they feast.
- Unferth comes and belittle Beowulf with an old story from the time when he lost a swimming match to Becca, who said that he was going to win. Beowulf of course does not relatilate but speaks the truth of the situation what included him having to fight monsters, and that Unferth killed his own brother
- Beowulf and his Men comes up with a plan on how to attack Grendel since he attacks at night. Beowulf has agreed to fight with out a sword against Grendel.
- When Grendel arrives he attacks one man and heads for Beowulf, but he is awakes and fights Grendel. This fight leaves the Herot in pieces. Grendel arm is ripped of by Beowulf bare hands, because no sword can kill Grendel because of a magical spell.
- Grendel runs off with one arm left to the warriors of Herot to boast over. Herot is now returned to the people of Danes by the hero Beowulf, and they rejoice and celebrate.
- One night after the celebration, Grendel's mother comes and revenge for her son. She attack Hrtohgar's dearest friend, and takes Grendel's arm to her underwater home. Beowulf tell Hrothgar he will find her and kill her. Once Beowulf finds her home along the shore, he jumps in and fights her but Hrunting cant hurt her and he grabs a magical sword and cuts her head off
- Beowulf Become old after ruling a kingdom for 50 years. He has already foreseen his death and has accepted that he will die when he fights against a terrorizing dragon.
- After Beowulf dies he wanted the people of his Kingdom to have the dragon's treasure, and for them to build a tower to help all the future sailors to find their way, when another kingdom is in need.
