  • Conflict in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
  • Man vs. Self- Ponyboy tells himself that he doesn't care about Darry but he knows he is lying to himself.
  • Man vs. Society- Ponyboy is a greaser, which means that society is always against him because he is poorer than the Socs. The greasers steal things and are looked down upon.
  • Greaser!!
  • Greaser!
  • Man vs. Man- Johnny and Ponyboy get jumped by the Socs. One of the Socs is drowning Ponyboy in the fountain. To save his friend, Johnny stabs the Soc in the back.
