  • Japan colonization/imperialism 
  • We need to start taking action and conquering land
  • U.S. oil/steel embargo on Japan
  • Pearl Harbor, Hawaii & the Surprise Attack
  • Japan wanted to expand their land so they could get more power and be taken serious.
  • Nazi Party invasion 
  • YES SIR
  • The United States heard that Japan was going to invade the Philippines. So, we shut down there supply of oil and steel so they were able to stop them from invading. 
  • FDR/"Date which will live in infamy"
  •  Japan attacked Pearl Harbor because the United States cut of their supply of Oil and raw material. Japan chose this location because it is one of the biggest navel bases. Pearl Harbor also had a huge oil plant so they knew if they bombed it the US would't have a strong military.
  • The Great Depression 
  • Hitler went around all the country he ruled and went door to door picking up Jews and putting them in the back of a truck and taking them to concentration camps. 
  • President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a speech on December 7, 1941 to the citizens of the United States saying that the attack of Pearl Harbor was a day in infamy.
  • During the Great Depression people would get kicked out of their homes because they had no money due to the Stock Market Crash. So, President Hoover created something such as Hooverville which was house built near rivers and several people stayed in them so they had somewhere to live.
