Ares, the god of war, was once at war- against Greece! He was prancing around the battlefield, and Athena did not like the mere sight of it.
Day after day, Athena grew sick of watching Ares cheering while lives were being taken. So Athena does what anyone does to punish someone- chuck a rock at the victim!
Athena knocked Ares out, and the Greeks won the war! But no one knew Athena threw the rock, so the Greeks began to believe that rocks are magical.
So a group of Greeks decide to test their theory. By-passers thought they were building a wall to protect themselves from the Macedonians. But really...
There he is!
...the Greeks threw more rocks at Ares! He was knocked out again.
The Greeks rejoiced. Their theory was correct! They stuffed Ares into a vase as a celebration.
