  • Climate change
  • The greenhouse effect
  • radiation
  • due to severe fossil fuel burning and reflection from the suns rays the ozone layer around the earth is breaking which causes the sun's rays to become more hot on earth which can result to severe sunburn
  • radiation absorbance
  • the greenhouse effect is the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet's surface.
  • solar radiation
  • infrared radiation is emitted from the earth's suface
  • summary
  • most radiation is absorbed by the earth's surface and warms it
  • some solar radiation is reflected by the earth and the atmosphere
  • some of the infrared radiation passes through the atmosphere and some is absorbed and re-emitted  in all directions by greenhouse gas molecules the effect of this is to warm the earth's surface and lower the atmosphere
