  • Okay class, so today....
  • Exposition
  • Wait I have a really funny joke!
  • Philip has Ms. Narwin for not only english class, but for homeroom class too. Philip isn't working hard in either class and is blaming his bad grades on his theory that Ms. Narwin doesn't like him. Philip is anxious to be on the track team but the coach has just told him that his failing grades in english prohibit him from being on the track team.
  • I'm sorry Philip but you can't be on the track team due to your failing english grade.
  • Rising Action
  • Finally, a reporter calls to hear what Ms. Narwin has to say and that makes her a little happier.
  • You don't understand... It's not my fault... Ms. Narwin is just out to get me!
  • I won't apologize for humming the National Anthem! I did nothing wrong!
  • Climax
  • Philip has just gotten kicked out of Ms. Narwin's class for the second time for singing the National Anthem and disrupting class. He refuses to apologize to Ms. Narwin like the principal had asked. The principal feels he has no choice but to suspend him.
  • I'm sorry Philip but I have to call your parents to ask you to pick them up.
  • Philip's parents are trying to support Philip and listen to his side of the story. Philip's dad has an idea to tell his neighbor, who is almost on the school board about Philip being suspended for a silly reason. The story ends up on the news and many begin to feel strongly that Philip is right even though they've only heard his side of the story.
  • Climax
  • Falling Action
  • Everyone was on Philip's side and nobody has heard Ms. Narwins side of the story.
  • Hello Ms. Narwin. I would like to do a report on your side of the story. I know the school had asked you to take a break and everyone has been angry with you but I realize your side of the story should be much different than Philips and I think it could be a great story.
  • Hello Class! This is Philip Malloy! Many of you may know him from the news. Philip, would you like to lead us as we sing the national anthem?
  • Philip switches to a new school but when introduced to the class on the first day and asked to sing the National Anthem he doesn't know it.
