Blanche wants people to see her as a pure woman. She pretends to be a woman who had never known indignity. She depends on male pleasure to boost her self esteem. Blanche always tries to make herself look attractive around new men to catch their attention. She wants to get rid of her bad reputation so she feels as if she gets married it would disappear
"Well you do you, honey lamb! Come here. I want to kiss you, just once, softly and sweetly on your mouth"
It can be considered gender commentary because it is clear she was saying that line to a man. Also males don't really tend to say things like that. This quote connects to the prompt because she is using her attractiveness and sexual ability to catch this mans attention
"No, ones my limit."
It connects to the prompt because she is attempting to get her bad image out of people heads which consists of her having a drinking problem. Having a drinking problem in those days wasn't thing best thing a woman could do.
To summarize the two commentaries about Blanche she tends to seduce men with her looks and alcohol seeking marriage hoping they will fall in love with her after that night. She only does these things in the dark/ behind closed doors. Blanche doesn't want people to known what she does so sneaks around to try to get rid of the bad reputation she brought upon herself
