Social studies project: Declaration of independence grievances
By Steven Tan and Johan Mathew
No more trial by jury! Only I make the judgement of whether an accused person is guilty or not!
He is accused of robbing a store.
What is this man accused of?
I promise! I did nothing wrong! It wasn't me!
Hmmm. I don't like this guy. Whatever, I'll just give him death penalty.
But sir, you didn't even look at the evidence!
I make my final decision, I give him death penalty!
NOOO! But I didn't even rob the store! And even if I did, how would that be a death penalty?
So unfair and unjust! Why can't there be a fairer way to decide if people are guilty or not? King George III is such horrible person! He is so biased, and he doesn't even consider the evidence!
King George III is a horrible judge! What kind of justice is this! Death penalty for somebody who probably didn't even rob a store?
Too bad. I am the King and I can do whatever I want. Even if its unjust.
We want back trial by jury! This way of judging is not fair at all!
