The Black Death began in 1347, the disease comes from Yersinia Pestis, which is a flee that lives in rats and rodents, it was contagious and very deadly.
Christian city of Kaffa was the first to be infected by the Mongols who catapulted their dead bodies into the city walls, the city and it's inhabitants were devastated, the survivors fled to Europe where it spread uncontrollably.
People turned to the Church for help, but they later realized that the Church could do nothing, and so the Church lost a lot of its power and influence on the people.
Trading began to slow down, and economies were ditiriarating, due to magnitude of people who had died.
Dangerous and unsanitary methods were used to treat victims of the disease.
Eventually, about 25 million of the entire European population died because of the Black Death, that is 1/3 of the entire population.
