Storyboard Text

  • Class, we are going to be doing some exam review today!
  • Okay, when are algebraic expressions equivalent?
  • Algebraic expression are equivalent if, the most simplified form of both functions are the same and the graphs are exactly the same.
  • Next question, what is the first step in factoring.
  • The first step is always to find the greatest common factor.
  • Great job! Let's do exponent rules next. What is the rule when you divide a power by a power?
  • First, the base must be the same. If they are you subtract the denominators exponent from the numerators.
  • Perfect, just a reminder to never divide the bases. Okay so next, who can tell me what the tangent identity is?
  • It's tan θ equals sin θ over cos θ.
  • Final question. How do you find the k value for a sine or cos function?
  • To find the k value, you divide 360 by the period of the function.
  • The End
