  • While awaiting a visitor on a cold, dark night at the Laburnum Villa Mr. White and his son are playing chess at the table while Mrs. White is knitting by the fire. Sergant Major Morris shows up and tells the Whites about his time in the war and all about his findings.
  • Climax 
  • Morris tells the whites about a Monkeys paw he had came encounter with. Shari put a spell on it to grant three men three separate wishes. it was meant to teach people that fate determines your future. Mr. White doesn't believe that and throws the paw in the fire.  
  • Falling action
  • Mr. White makes his first wish which is for two hundred pounds. In the morning Herbert goes off to work. That afternoon the Whites saw a strange man keep walking in their backyard, finally the man came inside and notified them that their son had been killed at work by the machinery and the owners had given them two hundred pounds in respect of their lost. 
  • Resolution 
  • After hearing the bad news Mrs. White is so dreppred she demands that her husband brings their son back from the bed. Even though Mr. White has a terrible feeling about this he sees that his wife is really out of it and he makes the wish anyway. 
  • After Mr. White made the wish there is a loud knock at the door and it gets louder and louder. Mrs. White is so excited that her son could be behind those doors she takes off to the front door to let him in. Mr. white is in panic and holds Mrs. White so that she cant open the door but she breaks free.  
  • As Mrs. White goes to open the door Mr.White goes to get the monkeys paw and makes his third and final wish once he does that the knocking stops and he goes down to see nothing behind the door and goes to comfort his wife.
